Disney World Eats

One of my favorite things about going to Disney is the many food options that are offered. There truly is something for everyone when it comes to food options at Disney. Each park has quick service restaurants for those that are looking for something to grab for a quick meal or those that are on a budget and there are table service restaurants for a nicer dining experience. The table service restaurants in the parks are always perfectly themed and some of them are also character meals where you get to meet some of your favorite characters while dining. I’m going to share a few of my favorite places to eat in the Disney Parks and also a couple of my favorite restaurants in the r esorts. I will share a quick service pick and a table service pick for each.

Magic Kingdom

A must try when it comes to quick service in the Magic Kingdom is Casey’s Corner. This is at the end of Main Street USA and is a great place to grab a hotdog and people watch. Casey’s Corner is known for its hotdogs and will always have a special dog of the month. My tip for this place is to go for the regular size hotdogs and not the foot long dogs. The bun they use on the foot long hotdog is way too much bread for a hotdog but you can’t go wrong with a regular hotdog.

When it comes to table service in Magic Kingdom many people say there aren’t that many great options but there are actually 3 of my favorite restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. My favorite one has to be Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen located across from the Jungle Cruise. The theming is centered around the Jungle Cruise and you may get some of the off the wall humor from some of the waiters or waitresses. The food isn’t your normal comfort food and there are some options that the not so adventurous eater may not enjoy but everything I have had there is amazing and the Sangria is probably the best I have had. Honorable mention goes to Liberty Tree Tavern and The Crystal Palace. The crystal palace is a buffet where you get to meet Winnie the Pooh and friends so that in itself makes it a top pick.

Epcot

There really aren’t that many quick service restaurants in Epcot but the best one is Yorkshire County Fish Shop located outside of the Rose and Crown pub in the UK pavilion. The fish and chips in Rose and Crown are probably the best around and you can get the same ones at Yorkshire County Fish Shop for half the price.

Epcot does have some of the best table service restaurants in all of the parks mainly because of all of the different offerings in World Showcase. Even though there are so many great restaurants in World Showcase my favorite restaurant in Epcot has to be Coral Reef located next to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. The restaurant is located in a huge aquarium and you get to watch sharks and sea turtles and every kind of fish you can imagine while having some truly fantastic food. Definitely try the calamari as an appetizer and if you are adventurous, the octopus is a good choice as well.

Animal Kingdom

The best quick service restaurant in all of the parks is located in the Animal Kingdom and it is Flame Tree Barbeque. They have ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and mac and cheese and the portions are definitely sharable which makes it a great value too. If you do eat here go all the way to the back to sit and you have a great view of Expedition Everest!

There are only a few table service restaurants in Animal Kingdom but my favorite is Yak and Yeti. Every meal I have had there has been really good. The sirachi mac and cheese that has shrimp in it is my go to meal there. They also have a good selection of specialty drinks that are not the norm.

Hollywood Studios

Food at Hollywood Studios is not as impressive as the other parks to be honest. Up until the recent opening of Toy Story Land the best quick service option was actually Starbucks but now that Toy Story Land is open there is a quick service there called Andy’s Lunchbox which is actually getting some great reviews so it is now taking the top spot.

The best table service restaurant in Hollywood Studios is the best not necessarily for the food but for the theming and overall experience and it is the Sci-Fi dine-in. You are transported back in time to a drive in theater where your tables are actually convertibles and there is a huge movie screen showing old Sci-Fi B movies. The burgers there are really good because the chef from D-luxe burger in Disney Springs is there now.

Disney Resorts

Quick service options in all resorts come in the form of food courts and the best one I have experienced is the one at Port Orleans Riverside. Breakfast options include fresh made beignets and custom omelets. Lunch and dinner options are great there as well where you can build your own pizzas or have Shrimp and Grits.

The options for table service in the resorts are endless. Each resort will have multiple table service restaurants and to be honest I haven’t been to one that I would not go back to. My favorite hands down is California Grille at the top of the Contemporary Resort. The food and the view are equally amazing and I can’t wait to go back. Be prepared to fork out the money for a meal here but it is worth every penny. The last visit there I ordered the Ribeye which came with mac and cheese and it was worth the $75 price tag. With the great food comes a great view. This restaurant has a view of Cinderella’s Castle and is the perfect viewing spot for the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom. The best thing to do is get a reservation for the time that the fireworks are going off but if you can only get a reservation for early in the evening then you can come back after your meal and they will let you go up to the viewing deck to watch the show.

I could talk about Disney restaurants for hours and still not be done so I will have future tips and more favorites that I will post about in the future. Hopefully this will give you a little insight into some great dining spots and some must eats while there.
